Servicing of Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguisher is a tool used to control early fires. The tool has a shelf life to ensure that the fire extinguisher can be used during an emergency.

Fire extinguishers shall be maintained annually in accordance with fire requirements which require fire extinguishers at premises maintained and certified by the fire safeguards in accordance with the provisions of the Uniform Building By-Laws 1984 and the Fire Services Act 1988 (Act 341).

Technicians who conduct servicing of fire extinguishing work are recognized by the fire after undergoing courses and tests with firefighters. After the fire extinguisher is maintained we will provide a fire certificate to be attached to the fire extinguisher. Stickers on fire extinguishers can only be issued by the fire department only.
